Analyzing soil samples is an effective way to increase the efficiency of your own crops.

Tests for residues of plant protection products

Method of selecting the primary sample from which the representative sample will be selected* .

  • The sample should be selected at random, from the production area at the stage of product harvest maturity, the withdrawal period should be observed.
  1. Method of primary fruit sampling in orchards and fruit plantations.
  • Fruits are taken from trees or shrubs along the diagonal of the orchard or plantation, from different sides of the crown of the tree or shrub, as well as from different heights and depths of the tree or shrub, in the manner specified in Table 1, except that for fruits:
    • Strawberries – they are taken from 5 adjacent bushes;
    • currant or grapevine – fruit clusters are taken

  1. Method of primary sampling of root crops and vegetables in plantations.

Primary samples of root crops and vegetables are taken at the number of sites specified in Table No. 1. In one of the following ways:

  • On the diagonal of the area of the field:
  • The bends along the surface of the field:

For primary sampling:

  • Potatoes and root crops- from one site, take a few tubers each from under adjacent potato bushes or a few adjacent root crops and dry-clean them from the soil;
  • Brussels cabbage – the primary sample taken from a single site must contain heads;
  • Tomato, cucumber and bell pepper – the fruits are taken from different sides and heights of the plant.

  1. Delivery of samples to the laboratory.

The sample should be secured after collection until delivery to the laboratory to avoid accidental contamination of the product. Seal the packaging (e.g., in polyethylene film bags or raschel bags not used for any other purpose) in a way that guarantees the authenticity of the samples and the invariability of its composition. There must be a permanent marking on the packaging of each generic sample to identify it based on the application form. The samples taken should be delivered as soon as possible

  1. Size of minimum samples for shipment.

Small-sized products (e.g. berries, cabbage Brussels sprouts, peas beans)- 1 kg Medium-sized products (e.g. apples, carrots, onions, tomatoes)- 1 kg (at least 10 pcs.) Large-sized products (e.g. cabbage, cucumbers, grapes in clusters)- 2 kg (at least 5 pcs.) Parsley leaves- 0.5 kg Herbs- 0.2 kg *Representative sample – a portion of the product selected for testing by random methods, designed to provide information on the pesticide content of the cultivated species.
